I managed to get the Buffy comic, but Serenity was gone by the time I got to my local comic store. Guess it (or the flip side Star Wars) was just too popular.

At the east side, anyway, they had about 4x as many copies of Buffy than Serenity. I got both though; remind me to send Mal your way sometime!
